MAC Fleshpot Lipstick and Underage Lipglass

I love nudes. Love them. MAC's fleshpot is as fleshy as I can possibly get being as I'm nw10-nw15. It's so fleshy, it really dulls out my fairly pigmented lips.

I love the lipstick but I have to reapply CONSTANTLY because if I eat, drink, or even move my lips, it looks terrible. The lipgloss, awesome. It feels really milky on my lips, really smooth but it too, kind of flakes off (ew, right?). I must be doing something wrong. I guess I'll need to condition my lips and exfoliate them so that it can look good on me.

Sorry for all the crappy cell phone pics- I'm in the process of upgrading my DSLR. So that's that.

MAC's Snob Lipstick and Lipglass

So the most popular lipstick and lipglass I first saw was Snob.

It looked really young, I'm not as young as I once was so I really unsure if I could pull it off. Most girls I've seen with it on were young and really, really bronzed skin. I am not. I am horribly pale and red faced, thank you Irish genetics...

Anyway. I loved it. My husband was like, "ooh, hello pornstar". I don't foresee this being an every day lip color because I ALWAYS like to look fairly natural *because I am older* but Snob is really bright and fun.

Lipstick- WICKED milky, very pigmented. Make sure your lips are not dry and are completely smooth else it'll look like crap.

Lipglass- pretty by itself but really, really sticky.

Face- Boots Color Adjusting foundation in extra fair. (It doesn't give enough coverage, it's too dark, and it makes me break out- why the hell am I still wearing it???) - because my skin is dry I made sure to use a moisturizer but then I also applied a primer (smashbox).

Eyes- ELF lipliner in brown. It was like $3 at target. I used a Sonia Kashuk eyeliner brush to apply it.
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Sin
Covergirl Lashblash mascara in Brown

Cheeks- from the new MAC Archie's Girls collection, Veronica's powder blush and Veronica's pearlmate

Lips- MAC Snob lipstick and MAC Snob Lipglass.

About Me

Hey- I'm Jo. I'm a Mum. And I know nothing about makeup.
I have terrible skin and never had a Mum that had the desire to teach me about makeup. She barely wore it herself in her later years but my oldest sister always tells me about how she had these crazy winged eyes and wore these polyester catsuits whenever she went out to the discotheque. So, because I have bad skin I've always just kind of accepted I'll always look like crap.

Well, then my second son was born and with all the excess weight I've gained with pregnancy I was like- I need to change! I need to look better! And so, I fell in love with MAC. With Lisa Eldridge. With various youtube makeup artists... and tons of beauty blogs and sites like Temptalia.

For reference-

  • I'm pale. MAC's studio sculpt in nw15 is way too dark and yellow for me.
  • I have crazy red undertones and my skin is splotchy red.
  • My skin is dry.
  • I have pockmarks and acne scars.
  • I get zits. Ugh. Perpetual teenager right here.
  • My lips are pretty pigmented.

  • My face is round and I usually sport a double chin when I'm carrying extra weight.

That's about it. I hope I can help anyone else like myself that's completely clueless!
